The Rancho Del Mar March Roundtable was a blast. For some fun in the general meeting we had guest bowling using plastic drink bottles filled with a small bit of water and some recycled tennis balls. It was harder than it looked and the players got some prizes for helping with the demonstration. Thanks to Doug Spindler for this fun activity.
We also had the chance to make some 'Mud Pies' with instant chocolate pudding, sour gummy worms, and some of those fancy rolled up cookie treats that look like sticks. You could also add some crushed graham crackers or cookies to the mix. We talked about reuse, and recycling and of course vermiculture composting with worms. Thanks to Tom and Judy Gielow for a great demonstration.
The April Abracadabra theme was demonstrated for the Cub Scout Breakout by Donna Wagstaff with some homemade wire puzzles (using recycled wire of course).
We're just starting our Boy Scout and Venturing breakouts with some new commissioners on our team. Gavin Leaming and Jackie Ochoa were on hand to meet with scout leaders for Q&A as we formulate our ideas for this new program at the Rancho.
